Please *stop* multi-posting.

Since this person doesn't know this netiquette, you should perhaps
include a short explanation with your complaint of his violation.
Which for example could contain what multi-posting is and why it is
wrong so that the OP can learn from his mistake. Or just refer to some
faq or site about the issue with f.ex. "to understand why this is wrong,
please see http://..."

The worst thing I know is people yelling at someone for doing something
wrong but they cant be bothered to explain it, that's just
condescending. Rather, try to help new users and foster a productive
environment instead of abusing "ignorant" users.

Most times the problem is that you have failed at doing one step
correctly, please review the installation steps for the JRE it self and
then for the browser installation.

I would bet the problem most likely is is a path access issue, i.e.
wrong path specified in the browser, access rights to a directory in the
path or the actual library, or perhaps the JRE environment settings are
wrong (I am not sure if using the jvm plug-in in a browser requires JRE
environment settings...)

It would perhaps be sensible to test that the JRE is running correctly
at command line before you try to plug it in to the browser.

*You* should perhaps do that. I have found that there are
far too many multi-posters for it to be practical.

My statement inherently includes an open invitation
to discuss the matter (e.g. "What does that mean?")
and has been said to this OP (AFAIR) before, in a less
...demanding/insistent way.

Speaking of which, it is considered polite (by many)
to mention when you change the follow-ups of
a usenet post. Please do so in future.

(f-u set to c.l.j.h. only - *again*)

Personally, I consider it rude to set /or/ change follow-ups at all. Except in
rare circumstances, arranging for people who read a post in one forum not to
see the rest of the discussion is decidedly impolite. Counter-productive too.

And most of the rare exceptions would be better served by multiposting in the
first place. E.g. if you think the post is likely to result in an irrelevant
x-posted flamefest between the inhabitants of two groups.

Incidentally, one significant positive effect that your "don't mulit-post"
messages have (as I'm sure you are aware but Tom may not have realised), is
nothing to do with the original poster at all. But it is a benefit to all the
rest of us who might otherwise waste time considering, or making, a response
that could duplicate someone else's efforts on <some other forum>. These
laconic warnngs may not benefit the original posters as much as Tom would like,
or perhaps not even at all. But I, personally, don't give a damn -- they
benefit /me/.

So thank you.

Why should I do that? you are the one making the complaint.
I have found that there are
far too many multi-posters for it to be practical.

I have found that there are too many minor things in the world I cant be
bothered with to be aggravated about any more, its just tiresome.

But what I don't mind spending a bit of time on is making Usenet a less
bitter place on people not knowing its ways. There are humans behind
each machine, and they don't react as a computer would. Applying a bit
of knowledge on about human nature would help the Usenet become an even
better place for learning.

(Rant aboard:
Yes, I know one could also argue that one should respect how many geeks
on Usenet behave and react to "non conformal procedures". But in the
wider world, this is not the normal behavioural pattern of humans. If
you do not have time to waste on lesser mortals, than blame yourself for
not figuring out a way to filter out the noise without making demands on
others. cont expect others to follow your desires. You could perhaps
make a script that marks multi posts as read etc
)
My statement inherently includes an open invitation
to discuss the matter (e.g. "What does that mean?")

paraphrased: "please do as I say!"

?!?! Where is the "open invitation" in that statement?
and has been said to this OP (AFAIR) before, in a less
...demanding/insistent way.

maybe he does not understand the reason. its a normal way to respond for
many humans, if you don't understand it; you don't spend too much time
wondering about it and continue as you all ways have.

You could just post a link to Roedy's explanation of the matter

I'd look it up - but I am too lazy to do that
