XML attributes

Hi

Is it possible to create a WCF service that delivers XML that contains
XML attributes using the DataContract serializer, or must one revert
to using the XML Serializer to achievet this?

I'm having difficulty finding any resource on the web that describes
if and how one can do it.

My understanding is that attributes are not supported by the DataContract
serializer.
