Application Pool identity account to reflect logged on user

I am a newbie that has inherited a very simple ASP application that
runs under the identity of a generic account. However this provides a
very poor audit trail to the executable that is accessed via this web
delievered app.

All changes to some purchased software running on another server show
as if made by this generic account and not the user who has
authenticated (via intergrated authentication/ntfs permissions) to
access the start.asp that ran the app on their web browser.

I need this identity to reflect that logged on user if possible as
simply as can be done.
