Auto type feature

I noticed that sometimes when I start typing my email address the textbox
turns into a combo with a list of suggestions, but sometimes it doesn't,
why?

If it has suggestions, it offers them to you and you see a combo. If it has
nothing to suggest, it doesn't offer to you anything.
