gridview control not showing selected row sytle sheet

R

Rafia Tapia

Hi
I am selected a row of the gridview programmatically by executing the
following code

grid.selectedindex=e.row.rowindex (this code is written in the rowdatabound
event handler)

but when the grid does not show this row as been selected. When I select a
row from the UI, my style for the selected row shows fine.

Appreciate any help

Thanks

Hi Rafia,

As for the GridView's SelectedIndex, you can set it programmatically in
your code, however, you also need to call "DataBind" method on GridView so
as to make it repopulate the Rows item collection to reflect the change.
Thus, "RowDataBound" is not the proper place to set this property. here is
a web article which provide some information about set GridView selectedRow
based on key in datasource:

#GridView selection by key

Steven,
Thanks for the response. Yes I figure out that I could not do that in the
rowdatabound event handler. I am setting the selectedindex of the grid in
the prerender event handler and it is working fine.
