Only I would just skip the Applet stuff, except

& even more frustratingly, it mentions
'becoming an editor', vaguely on that
page, to get access..

There is text near the bottom
"Open Directory home page"

You click that link and _also_
get a 'login' screen.

LOL.. Not very 'Open' for a homepage!

They need to seriously rethink the entire UI.
