Interesting the number of post we have had in the last week about people
wanting a "FREE" WYSIWYG editor, when just last week someone announced
they just released a new version of the"FREE" WYSIWYG editor....

(I am now going to cough, but as I cough I will, say the word spam...)

Couspamgh.....

I know, but they pay me $35 every time I refer to http://wojanware.com
So if you need a simple (ABSOLUTELY FREE) WYSIWYG editor, try
http://wojanware.com or http://wojanware.com or (*my favourite*)
http://wojanware.com!
( That makes another $140 :)
Cheers, Nico

What kills me is the number of people who insist upon paying out the arse
for bloatware like dreamweaver, when practically anything it can do can be
done in notepad just the same.
After all, isn't html nothing more than plain text with a certain special
funcionality to it?

As far as that goes, you could use notepad for writing any computer language
code.
Then all you would need is a compiler for it.

Looking for a FREE WYSIWYG editor, try http://wojanware.com !
Cheers, Nico
(They just raised my fee to $40. Best program I encountered lately. Almost
as good as FrontPage (MS pays me $85))

A compiler for HTML? :)

From what I can see, only one person has recently asked for a free HTML
editor (Amir) -- he's just asked twice.

Compiling by hand is not really all that difficult. I had to do a bit of
it at university (in fact, I also had to write a basic optimising compiler
too, but that's a lot more difficult!).

Assembling by hand is a lot more tricky, but even that can be done. A hex
editor may be more use than a text editor for that job though.

Not practically anything, but pure anything. But that's not why I use
it. To each his/her/it's own (I guess it is politically correct now to
include transgender)

You could also get a prince albert, but I wouldn't do that either.....

They haven't got your affiliate site up yet, Nico?

I just visited the site to see what you are on about; as it was
registerware I lost interest, but in view of later posts (spam) I checked
my temp files and it had put about 40 assorted image files and others in my
TIF and about 60 more among my IE content. From one visit to the site!

I imagine a spybot scan would find something pretty horrible, but I'm not
going to let it on my puter to find out.

WHOA WHOA wait a minute guys!

I did not post anything last week asking for a free browser. Honestly!
<blink> most certainly DOES NOT have spyware, adware, or any other program
in it like that...
Someone scan it and report back!

Jesus... I put a free editor out there and people bitch about it as if I
must be doing SOMETHING evil.

As for registerware, I don't think asking for a name and an email address is
too much considering the benefit some people will get from it.

Thanks,
Scott Wojan

maybe because his last attempt at spaming this group with his html
editor didn't back in 2002 didn't go well for him. seemed he couldn't
understand it wasn't his right to advertise his products on usenet.

Yes it is.

I looked at the site with the view of downloading it for a try, or at least
to tell you what is wrong with it. I saw the registration page and left
immediately. I never give my email address to anybody I do not know
personally and trust.

I considered lieing but I just could not be bothered filling in the form.

Cheers
Richard.

BARF! Looks like a cross between IE, netscape and FP.
All the makings of it being right out of the MS package.
It has nothing different, or better than, my two favorites.

Since it accepts a hotmail address, I can live with it.
BTW, why isn't the program better integrated with stylesheets? It could be
an interesting editor with that feature.

You really are a whinging bastard. If you don't want to accept the
terms of the download, don't. That may be your loss, but I very much
doubt a provider of *free* software is going to care either way.

If you were buying something on-line I'm sure you'd happily give your
email address to knobticklers.com during the order process, wouldn't
you?

What's up tonite Hywel. You are usually such a nice bastard :)

To answer your comment, I did, I not accept the terms of the download. If it

Yes I have given my email address to sites on the net. Sites I trust. Sites
that have a clear privacy statement.

I have never ever given my email address to some fly by night outfit
offering an allegedly questionable free WYSIWYG HTML editor.

My loss? I don't think so. I use .net to author web sites. At least it does
not fiddle with the HTML *I* type in.

Cheers
Richard.

As for registerware, I don't think asking for a name and an email address is

That is what turns it into spam. If the registration was optional, then
you would truly be giving to the community. Since you require a
registration, you are asking for something in return.

I also give away software, a Flash Jukebox. But when I mention it here
(when I create a new version what ever) I make sure everyone knows,
that it, and the source are free to who ever wants to use it, and there
is no registration or anything. That is not spam. If I required an
email address, then it is no longer free, and the post is spam.

I also just found it interesting that there were multiple threads about
free or light weight wysiwyg editors about the same time you announced
blink....

Not suspicious, but interesting... very interesting....
