What language(s) the magazine(s) should be written in, what
country you're from?

I think, this kind of information you get also from every rack
in a news-shop in a train-station. So what are your personal
opinions about these magazines?

That is a bit like saying "Could you pick me out a wife?". It is hard
to do without knowing you better. All these things have their niches.

The main reason to purchase a paper magazine is to read the ads, to
see what sorts of products are out there for Java developers.

Just as with text books I suggest skimming before purchase to get
something at your level.

Most magazines now are available on line or old issues are. You can
browse before you plunk down your money. Things don't change that
fast in the computing world that you need the freshest issue.

For a start I would subscribe to http://www.javaspecialists.co.za/
It is free and has something interesting every month, not too
overwhelming.

I see that question as more like "which Java IDE would you suggest." Asking
a personal opinion on something is total valid and can be very helpful.
Other developers have read these magazines before and may have valid input.

I disagree... I usually subscribe to paper magazines because I like the
portability of it.. I take mass transit in and out of work everyday, and I
like reading about stuff that I can apply at my job.

Of course... this is always a good idea.

Thanks... I'll have a look.
