At a quick glance I don't see any that also have text, but
the same page explains how to write your own renderers and
editors for JTable cells.

You would write a custom TableCellRenderer and a TableCellEditor.

Then google those two interfaces to find examples of source code. You
might luck out and find one that does 99% of what you need.
