As explained previously, I find it necessary to assume that all
insults aimed at "Paul" here are actually intended for me, and respond
in both of our defense. To set the record straight:

* I am not Paul. Nor am I Steve.
* I only post via Google Groups. I do not post via aioe,
motzarella, or individual.net. (The latter isn't even
free!)
* None of the nasty things that Larry has said or implied are
true of me.
* I don't know whether the insults are true of Paul, or of
Steve, or whether Steve is Paul, but I very much doubt
that either would appreciate your insulting or speculating
about him.

I think Steve is likely to dispute that. I certainly dispute the
implications that I'm Steve, that I'm Paul, and that I'm dishonest.

things that we've said are true. Which I predict will happen within the

Well, that does seem to pose something of a problem. It seems you'll
take my attempts to set the record straight just now as evidence of
your kooky beliefs about me, Steve, and Paul? Well, that's no good.
Seek professional help for this paranoia. You apparently have an even

All due respect, you seem to be saying you're in the same position that
a doctor would be after, having used the term "stomach" to describe a
person's lower torso throughout his professional years without realizing
that use is imprecise, discovering that "numerous others" use that term
to describe a specific organ inside the body.

The phrase "virtual memory" does in fact have a very specific and
precise meaning in the context of the computing professions. Just
because you've been misusing it all these years doesn't change the
fact. I'd hoped that the discussion would have helped you understand
the imprecision of your own use and the correct, precise definition used
by professionals.

I gather from your reply that hasn't been the case.

I enjoyed that well-chosen simile, however the introductory phrase might
introduce an undercurrent of sarcasm.
