Packaging a Ruby file into a stand alone application

A

Ajay R.

Hello,

It has been only a day since I have heard of Ruby (Very very New). My
situation is I have a Ruby file (with .rb extension). When executed, it
would log-in to a Quickbase server and output a report (.csv extension).
I execute this with a Windows batch file (.bat). Now this report has to
be generated by a lot of other people who are business executives. I was
told that packaging it into a exe file would serve the cause. Kindly
help with the process of packaging this Ruby file so that all the User
has to do is to execute the application and the batch file has to run to
execute the Ruby script and create the .csv file.

Thanks,
Ajay

Ajay,
Can you upload the Ruby code? I am a Ruby beginner and also use
Quickbase. I would like to see how Ruby exercises the Quickbase api.
Thanks,
Doug

Ocra is usually recommended for this: http://ocra.rubyforge.org/
