problem with ODBC connection for VWD 2005

it is very weird
I set the same connection string for ODBC connect to dBase file in
asp.net
and the file is the same, just copied from one PC to another PC
but what happens is that it runs well on two Desktops for the
connection to get the table
but when I tried to open the connection on the Labtop, the VWD closes
automatically
seems it have problem retrieving the data from the table

and the connection string is
<add name="ODBCConnectionString" providerName="System.Data.Odbc"
connectionString="Driver={Microsoft dBASE Driver
(*.dbf)};DriverID=277;Dbq=D:\ST8000" />

what could be the problem?
