Reading contents of files over SSH connection in java

Hello everybody

I hope somebody can help me with my question,I am using the MINDTERM
API to connect to a ssh server. For now I can connect to the server
with no problem. I am just wondering if there is anyway for me to read
contents of files and directories over the ssh channel, If so how is
that possible? do i need to download the files through sftp first? or i
can read the files directly on the ssh server. I appreciate if somebody
can help me with this probelm.

If you are connecting to a unix machine could use issue the cat
command, or find, and process the buffer command execution
