In the old asp, Visual Studio generated a search.htm page
which worked with the Indexing Service to produce a search
engine capability.

Is there anything like this in asp.NET?

Hi Mark,

Based on my research and experience, I am sorry to say that there is no
such search page generated by ASP.NET. You may either resort to some
third-part vendors, for example
http://www.master.com/texis/master/app/home.html, or index server for help.
