SP2 and ASP.NET

Hi,

Since installing SP2 I can´t open a ASP.NET project/solution from VS.NET
2003....
I am getting an error that says that I don´t have any ASP.NET 1.1 services
running...

When trying to track the problem down I discovered that when trying to
access IIS config from the Management Console that the console just hangs
when connecting to IIS...

I suspect that this is caused by the general hardening of XP sp2...

What is the workaorund for this??

i did not have any problems accessing my console.. but you might want to
check you windows firewall
with sp2 its up by default (on installation.. if you disabled it before
installing sp2 it blocks all excess)

the way to do it is check the services to see if firewall is up and running
then go to control panel >> windows firewall.. and try to disabled it. See
if it works..

if that doesnt work.. i would advise you to rebuilt the box with sp2 being
installed before any applications are

....the weird stuff continues
I did some other work and after about 2 hours...the IIS console awakened (I
had just about forgotten about it..)
I checked the environment and did some tests...opened up VS.NET and now
everything works fine...
I haven´t rebooted or anything....

By the way I don´t use the MS firewall so it was off all the time...

I had a similar problem with IIS, on the one system I applied SP2 to. I went
into the Services admin tool and saw that the WorldWideWeb service was hung
up in 'starting' state. This happened the first two times that I rebooted
the system, but the third time the service started up quickly and I'm not
seeing the problem again. I have no idea why things changed but I'd love to
know.
