Switching to ASP.NET 2 cased exception

I just switch my asp application to .net 2 and got this error. Any reasons
why?

Hi Shimon,

Welcome to the ASP.NET newsgroup.

From your description, I understand you've converted an ASP.NET 1.x project
to ASP.NET 2.0, after that, when you try running the converted application,
it report FileNotFound runtime exception, correct?

Based on the review of the error message and call stack you provided, the
problem seems occur at the Application's initialize time and the runtime is
looking for the global.asax file. So I think you can check the global.asax
file in your application, check whether it is still in the application root
dir, and if you've used codebehind for it, check the App_Code dir to see
whether the codebehind class is there.

Please feel free to post here if there is any other finding or particular
problem.

I found that problem was with config file.

I was too fast to post that problem was in config file.
What I did was following.
I just switched IIS setting for asp.net framework from 1.1 to 2.0. I didn't
recompile any code. That is a production server and I didn't want to touch
anything.
I am planning to use new Web Application Project in order to migrate from
1.1 to 2.0 as it most recommended way to go. As far as I understand I won't
need app_code folder and don't need to publish aspx.cs files.
I do have global.asax but no code in app_code folder ( don't even have the
folder as I explained.)

Thanks for your followup Shimon,

As for web application project, it is still under beta preview, also it is
mainly designed for vs 2003/asp.net 1.x developers to continue developing
2.0 application as original model. If you feel convenient, I'd still
suggest you consider use the default projectless model of ASP.NET 2.0
application. VS 2005 ide will help you convert it to that model
automatically though we may still manually perform some further adjust on
them after the converting.

And for deployment, the Web Deployment Project is just designed for the new
2.0 application model:

I have a similar problem, but it's not with a web application. This is a WinForms application. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
