Text area in ajax:modalpopupextender

I have an ajax modalpopupextender that displays a dropdownlist and a
textarea. When user selects from dropdown, the textarea text changes
according to the selection. It works fine, but after I cancel the popup and
redisplay, the textarea text does not change when dropdown selection
changes.

This only happens in firefox but in IE it works fine.

It only happens if I use a textarea (asp:TextBox with multiline).

If I use a label instead of textbox it works.

Javascript is used to toggle the text but I'm pretty sure that's not
it...could this be a CSS issue?
