Have a look at Jalbum or otherwise ask in a javascript group.

Looks very interesting. Have you used it? I was planning to write
my own very simple slide show as a learning experience (and to use)
but am not sure if I have the time.

I now and again play with some of the things at Jalbum. It is a thriving
community and there is good stuff there, I am always meaning to use it
more...

As for slideshows in particular, perhaps I have fallen asleep at too
many live ones and it explains a certain lack of enthusiasm. I suspect
slideshows are something that sound like a good idea and rather
satisfying as a technical achievement to the author, impressive even to
a bystander, but less than actually useful to many. How many folks
really sit there looking at slideshows on their monitors? Mostly folk
are interested in just a few selected pics. Which is why I have always
urged that thumbnails should mostly be big enough (no postage stamp
stuff) to enable an assessment of real interest in an enlargement.

thanks guys, i use JAlbum alot - its a sweet script.
but me, not need image silide-show, need something that will
randomly pick text - quotes (preferabley out of isolated js files,
and display them in random, fading betw text in's and out's.

i use unicode for mulit-lang displays, so lot of code & some font
stylings in the seperate text code chunks, that's why i need it to
pull from seperate js files, rather than, say one array in one js file.
