As I think I've said before, closing <br> with </br> creates a space

And I have absolutely no intention ever of using stylesheets.

In which case please feel free to shove all our help up your arse.

Regarding blind Internet users, many years ago I got an e-mail from a
bloke who said he was totally blind; I thought he was pulling my
plonker, but a while later I read an article about him in the Times.

A few years after that I was contacted by some blind muppet who wanted
help researching at Colindale. Normally I have a lot of time for blind
people but this bloke was a total arsehole. I gave him a lot of help
then he decided he wanted someone else to escort him, and I never got
paid for the work I did.

What you're looking for is a blind man who is also deaf; he might be
able to tolerate you.

If you would pay attention, you'd see that closing an XHTML <br> is by

I still drive a 1958 Borgward, but one day soon I won't be able to find
any parts for it. Wake up and smell the roses. Using CSS is far easier
than retyping presentation bits all through the pages, all the time. Put
it once in the stylesheet.
Regarding blind Internet users,

How about you make your pages worthy of *sighted* users before you worry
too much about the blind ones, eh? 'Cause so far, they ain't.

As I think I've said before, that's not the right way to close it.

Then you're going to continue producing crappy web pages. Your choice.
