Understanding java error output - related to the sun app server PE 8.1

I hope members think this is a proper place to ask this question. It
is true that it relates to sun app server but more importantly it deals
with reading java log output and synthesize it properly to troubleshoot
the problem.

OS: Mandriva LE
Internet: DHCP

I am having what seems to be a common problem with the sun application
server PE 8.1. After I install it, it runs fine. However, when I
shutdown/restart my machine and attempt to run this server I get the
error:
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1

There is a whole bunch of info online, none of which has worked for me
except for reinstalling the server, so it seems that the domain files
are corrupted. I guess I need to take this issue from the beginning.
At the bottom of this post you will see the log file for this
particular server activation instance. For now, I would like to know
what it is telling me. For instance, there is a section complaining
about:
java.net.ServerSocket.bind(ServerSocket.java:319)

I understand that this is related to the java.net package and that
there was a problem creating a socket. OK, moving on, there is also
the complaint:

[#|2005-06-07T10:32:23.642-0400|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe8.1|javax.enterprise.system.core|_ThreadID=10;|UnknownException
during startup. Disable quick startup by setting system property
com.sun.enterprise.server.ss.ASQuickStartup to false
com.sun.appserv.server.ServerLifecycleException:
java.rmi.server.ExportException: Listen failed on port: 0; nested
exception is:

Now, where is this com.sun.enterprise.server.ss package? In the j2ee
1.4 API specification there is no mention of a javax.enterprise.system
package. I searched the entire SUNWappserver directory for the string
ASQuickStartup and there isn't any. Online there is nothing about
setting this parameter. How do I go about finding out about these
features/parameters?

To recapitulate, I would like someone to go through this log and tell
me what it is telling you, aka the major points. I have an idea about
what is going on but I want to get a thorough rendition as to how an
expert would read it and synthesize it. Furthermore, if anyone has
suggestions as to where to find these server packages and whatnot I
would really appreciate it.
