Using a SlideShowExtender for jpg phots stored in a database?

I'm developing a slide show using the Ajax SlideShowExtender.

My photos are stored in a SqlServer database so I need to extract them and
make files for the SlideShowExtender.

I'm concerned that the extraction of all the photos before the
SlideShowExtender starts to work might produce a noticeable delay.

Also, I wonder if the SlideShowExtender downloads all the files before it
starts to change views?
Another delay?

Anyway, I thought I'd ask if this seems a good way to go?
