Website Search Free Text

Hi guys,

im building a website for a client but they have asked for a free text
search facility on the homepage to search the whole site and then give
a list of links to the static html pages.

I was wondering if this is possible and what would be the best way to
go about this ???

My site is built using asp.net

If it is a public website, you can just make a google sitemap xml document,
and put a google search box on the site. They do a bang-up job of indexing
sites, as you may have found.
Searcharoo is certainly another choice, but if you want something more
robust, take a look at dotLucene.
