XML Namespace

Hi all,
I have an xml present in an XMLDocument object and the xml is in the
format as below

<Root>
<Name>Joe</Name>
<EmployeeID>1</EmployeeID>
</Root>
What I want to do is I want to add a NameSpace to the Root node.
The root expected is something like this

<Root xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

Well, with that syntax, the namespace is not being used and could be omitted.
If it were being used then you'd see the XML look something like this:

<xsi:Root xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
....
</xsi:Root>
