Books on COM dev.

Hi,
I am actually working with DirectShow and willing to build my own
filters.
For that, I need to know enough on COM (Component Object Model)
before.
I am hesitating between two Books: Applying COM+ by Gregory Brill and
Essential COM by Don Box.
I like the first one because it features COM and COM+ (I don't really
know the difference between those two).
The second one seems to be more complete but it's a old book and don't
talk about COM+ since it was introduced in Windows 2000.
So what you recommend for me? (I have to choose one, don't have too
much money :)
You can suggest other books.
Thank you.

Then you should ask somewhere where it is topical, which isn't here.

Best book on COM is 'Inside COM' from Dale Rogerson. It is a good
introduction and not an 'inside' look (those M$ people tend to overuse
the word 'inside'). However one does not need such a knowledge of COM.
For DirectShow I recommend 'Programming Microsoft® DirectShow® for
Digital Video and Television' from Mark Pesce. This is information
which can be found in MSDN as well, but a book is nicer to read and
bundled.
