How to ensure the application can run with different browsers??
Are there any known issue list and how to avoid them ??

The only way to ensure the application will run with different browsers is
to test it with different browsers.
As a general rule of thumb, try to keep the HTML as simple and generic as
possible. Try to stay away from the more modern HTML techniques (like CSS
and absolute positioning) if you can to preserve cross browser
compatability. Javascript also has compatability issues, so avoid it when
you can and test it thoroughly when you must.
Also, you can detect the browser and spit out different code for particular
browsers if you need to.

the only way to insure is lots of testing with different browsers.

You can never give enough testing time to every browser that exists on
earth. Just comply with http://www.w3.org/ standards, you should be good.

How to ensure the application can run with different browsers??

For an ASP.NET application, you can modify the BrowserCaps section in
your Web.config. This section tells ASP.NET how to talk to different
browsers.

An updated BrowserCaps section can be found here:
http://slingfive.com/pages/code/browserCaps/

It seems to work fine for Opera, Mozilla, Firefox, and the like.
