checkbox, why alignment slightly offset

As sounds.

I have a few textboxs and checkbox in a table, each on their own
row. I have to use relative positioning to move the checkboxs over to the left
a bit so they are aligned with the textboxs, there seems to be an offset
in the checkboxs that you cann't control?
Is there a better way? Why are they offset?
