It is neither standard C not standard C++. As a result, it is off-topic in
both <and <
In the implementations that provide such a non-standard header (almost all
for x86 platforms), it is a header for use with C which may also work with
C++. In no implementation is it a header for use with C++ first.

Neither ISO C nor ISO C++ have a standard header called conio.h. Such a
library shipped with old DOS compilers where it provided functions for
managing the DOS console, such as printing at specific screen co-ordinates,
which stdio.h lacks.

I know everyone knows what you mean, but you're using "header"
and "library" interchangeably. Both are headers, and <stdio.h>
can't do a thing, the standard C library can.

And AFAIK, "old DOS compilers" aren't the only ones equipped
with the infamous "conio.h" header (and accompaning library).
