Custom Server control tag prefixes

Can some one explain how to have a custom tag prefix for my custom server
control? I am using VBnet. I have tried it already several times but with no
luck so i must be something. I have this in the webcustomcontrol.vb file
<Assembly: TagPrefix("RiderDesign.Ecommerce", "RD")>
