history.go(-1) does not save

I am using the history.go(-1) on a submit button perfectlly in IE5.

But it does not work when I populate the input type=select
dynamically.

What happens is a I have a popup add options to the select box. When
I submit that page and the use the history.go(-1). Those options are
no longer there.

Any ideas on how to preserve this.

What are you expecting history.go(-1) to do for you?
If you want to go back a page, I'm not sure if this would work better:
JavaScript:history.back()

I'm just not clear on what you want it to do.
