RMI deleting remote objects and garbage collection

Hello,

I ve got the following questions please:

1. "Explain the consequences of Java's approach to deleting remote objects
on the general performance of both local and remote Java method
invocations."

Does this refer to the latency imposed by object activation?I cant really
understand the question!

2. What about distributed garbage collection? Is it implemented in RMI?

Any pointers are wellcome.
