access lock problem

hey guys - any insight into why a web application works fine with access, when i'm developing it and using local host.
yet, when deploying it on a remote machine, access has a variety of complaints concering locks
"couldnt lock file" is one.........."could not use";file already in use"
any ideas why it would only do this when it's on another machine?

May be due to access privilege not granted properly. Ex: On a Windows server
2003 machine, and if your "web site" is running under "Network Service"
account, check to make sure that this account has RW access... Also please
keep in mind that Access is a single user, not a multi-users database.
