I've had a bit of trouble with gFTP's
chmod function. Somehow, while changing
the mode of a single file deep within a site,
the permissions for directories get changed too.
I was able to fix it twice myself, but had to
write the host to fix a third occurance.

KBear is nice; but I've settled on lftp.
No fancy interface, but rock solid and quite
easy to use after a short learning period.
I can actually do most things more quickly than
with the GUI clients.
