Broken image links using Visual Studio 2005 Development Server

I'm having some trouble migrating from ASP.NET 1.1 to ASP.NET 2.0. On
the development server, a lot of images that are in subfolders don't get
served. They appear as broken links. However, I have IIS also
installed on my workstation because I had been using Visual Studio .NET
2003 (I just upgraded to 2005). If I use IIS to serve the site then it
renders correctly. However, I get errors if I try to use IIS and debug
my web application. Of course, I want to see on my development
environment the same thing I'll see once I publish the site.

So, what do I need to change in my configuration? Is it a security
problem? If so, how do I fix it? Or, if I have IIS, is it better to
use that, in which case how to I get IIS to support ASP.NET 2.0
debugging (locally on the same machine as the debugger? - This works
with 2003 but not 2005).

Thank you for your help!

David
