You are saying that I don't need to do the Dirty Harry bit? That I will
do just fine being myself?

Sure. You can't be anyone else, anyway, and resorting to playacting just
throws phony signals into the equation. Most people feel some inadequacies
and try to appear better than they are when they can only be at their best
if they're themselves. This is not to say that one can't improve onesself
in many ways, but embracing falsity won't cut it.

Just not going to get goated into that old argument, he knows as well as
I what the "right" answer is....

No, we just have different versions of what "right" is.

That is fantastic Boji, here you are pretending to be Mr. Straight Guy
or Uncle giving me worldly wisdom when you and I goddam know in our
heart of hearts that a website maker without a Magnum 44 ("the most
powerful hand gun in the world ... " you know the speech Harry gave...)
is a *naked* website maker, a defenceless one at the mercy of each and
every client.

"Put a dancing gyrating set of smileys on our website"

"Yes Sir, Boss, two bags full Boss"

"Make the menu drop up and down and sideways and at a diagonal with sub
sub sub menus and if there are no sub menus, make something to fly out
or jump about..."

"Yes Sir, Boss, two bags full Boss"

Yes, but you can be more effective with _your_ gun, whatever it is, than
someone else's. That was my point, but I guess I was a little preachy.
Didn't mean to trigger your dark side.

I recently holidayed back home and my minders took the dark side out of
the workings of me. They reckon it was causing too much trouble on
earth. I pleaded with them not to, that it was the thing that was most
fun on my visit here. But they agreed only to radically alter it before
reinserting it. I will be getting it back after a service call.

Detective Callahan is showing his age. :) The .44 Magnum round used in
the Model 29 used by Dirty Harry produces a mere 1,718 joules of energy
with a 240 grain jacketed hollow point round:

The Pfeifer Zeliska .600 Nitro Magnum, on the other hand, delivers a much
more impressive 6,230 joules:

Yeah right! But my clients are not always males and rarely of Russian
bear proportions. I think the .44 has served me well.

I have a heavier armed backup facility in the form of a ute with mounted
equipment - picked up for an absolute song in a second-hand shop run by
a Somalian warlord - that I have used for particularly difficult cases.

But your advice is interesting given the current high price of petrol
these days.

(I also admire - note this Gus - the way your long url does not break
up)
