in comp.lang.c i read:

i've tried from several locations, no joy.

Its admin is away and the site went down on the first day of his absence.
I've tried contacting him but he might not be able to do anything about
it until he returns (the machine is ping-able, so it's at least running).
In the meantime I've got backups and can have the domain name re-pointed
if anyone wants to temporarily host the site (apache + mysql + php).
Probably this wouldn't be required for much longer than a week.
google seems to think so as well.

That's the right bookmark (we're considering the merits of removing the
need for the "/wiki").

Temporary hosting got sorted out yesterday - the SDF (freeshell.org) was
quick in its response and set-up. Anyone whose DNS server hasn't picked
up the change yet could try adding this local hosts file entry:
192.94.73.3 clc-wiki.net

[...]
For now the entry-point on the temporary host is:
http://clc-wiki.net/mediawiki

[...]

Typical isn't it. I go on holiday and things break! Sorry about that
folks. Before I next go on holiday I'm trying to improve things so that
more can be done remotely and more can be done by someone other than me.
Also, I think I've tracked down the cause of it dying in the first place
and done something to prevent it. Time will tell.

If you go to http://clc-wiki.net/ it will redirect you to the correct
page. However, I do have some ideas on how to side-step the problems
involved in removing the /wiki part of the name. I'll look in to them.
