I am trying to display a custom error page (.htm) when there is 401.2 error
with windows auhtentication. I know the the ASP.NET application cannot handle
this but when configured in IIS it does not seem to work.
I have seen many articles as to how to do it in IIS, but none of them seem
to be working with IIS 5.0 on XP. I have repleced the custom error 401.2 in
the custom errors tab, but the server still gives. (Error Message below)
Access is denied.
Description: An error occurred while accessing the resources required to
serve this request. The server may not be configured for access to the
requested URL.
Error message 401.2.: Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server
configuration. Verify that you have permission to view this directory or
page based on the credentials you supplied and the authentication methods
enabled on the Web server. Contact the Web server's administrator for
additional assistance.
People discuss that there is a link to specify the message type as URL or
FILE, but I only see File or Default. Any help to achive this would help.
