Export slideshow to video

Hi!

I'm developing a photo slideshow app with background music using Java
(1.4.2). I'd like to know if, right now, it would be possible to export
the slideshows (a JPanel showing one photo after another) to some video
format to be able to see the photos without needing my app. Is it
possible with the current java technology ?

Another question, is java able to burn a CD ?
