frustrated w/ Sql 2005 membership provider

I'm about to give up. This is what I'm trying to do:
I want to use the login controls to authenticate users to my site. My setup:
VS2005 beta2 on machine running WinXP SP2- SQL Server 2005 June CTP on
machine running 2003 Server and IIS 6. I would like to keep VS and Sql Server
on separate machines to simulate deployment to a webserver. I cannot find any
tutorials that duplicate this situation. I've had so many different error
messages that they are too numerous to post. It seems that the errors I am
getting all refer to an error w/ Sql Express. I am trying to use the full
version of Sql Server. I have had no problems working w/ Sql 2000 in the
past. Can't figure this out. I know I'm missing something. Please help- I
know I could figure this out if pointed in the right direction. Thanks- I'll
keep on plugging.
