Javascript errors disabled in IE6

O

Oleg Konovalov

Hi,

I am using IE6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_grd.050301-1519 [SP2] with all latest XP
Pro patches
and for some reason it doesn't display JavaScript errors which other users
[with IE6.0.2800.xxx]
can see in exactly same situations.

It doesn't even display several buttons [which don't have any conditional
logic, but have a lot
of Javascript], so maybe it's because of some Javascript error which is
getting suppressed.
I did check all obvious IE settings - all enabled, removed cookies,
temporary files,
popup blockers disabled [at least alert() & confirm() work], etc.

Any idea what might be wrong ?
Any known bug or some non-trivial setting I should check.

Just in case, is there a way to force an older sub-version of IE6 ?
Trying to uninstall it as Windows component or re-apply Win XP SP2 didn't
help.

Please help !

Thank you,
Oleg.

This problem has nothing to do with Java.
Please refrain from making x-posts to 4 groups in future,
and if cross-posting, set a follow-up header to the most
appropriate group and infrom the reader.

(Follow-ups set to c.l.javascript only)

Not sure why you posted it in all the Java groups as it has nothing to
do with Java. Follow-ups set to comp.lang.javascript

Open a page with an error.
In the lower left corner of the browser double click the Yellow !
Check the box that says "Always display error messages".
