JSP not working on local NT

I had JSP Tomcat on my local Windows NT workstation working and havent
used it for a couple weeks and now it is not working. When I try the
startup job in
C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.27\bin I get the following DOS message:
The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined. This environment
variable is needed to run this program
Using CATALINA_BASE: ..
Using CATALINA_HOME: ..
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: ..\temp
Using JAVA_HOME:

It also pops up an info box:
Cannot find the file '-Djava.endorsed.dirs='(or one of its
components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all
the required libraries are available.

I tried this:
set JAVA_HOME=C:\j2sdk1.4.1_02

and it didnt work because I still get the error messages.

Please advise how I can get this working again?
