JSR 168 set the portlet state

Hello all,
I would like to be able to set my portlet's state (to minimized) in my
doView() method of my portlet. I haven't found any method of doing this
anywhere on the web, but I don't see why it is impossible. I've seen
it done as part of the processAction() method using ActionResponse, but
I need it in doView() using RenderResponse, or something like. I'm
developing a JSR 168 portlet on a websphere portal server. Any ideas?
