Hi,
An application I am developing will require membership.
To allow single sign on, we will be using Active Directory, but as I work
from home, I don't have access to the AD but still need to develop the
application.
I have set up my own DB and ran the aspnet_regsql to add in my membership.
I am fairly new to membership and active directory, so the learning curve is
currently quite steep. However, I have been looking around.
If I set up my app to use the membership to use AD, do I still use the local
SQL for the rest of the user management? I really do not know how this
works. The way I am assuming (and hoping for simplicity) is that the AD just
authenticates a user like the user table in SQL would, and that the rest of
my membership management would be handled by SQL. Is it all transparent no
matter which way I write it, i.e. I just authenticate and have role
management etc.?? Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks.
