PDF reader detection

Well...
Reading all msg about Acrobat or PDF reader plugin detection in IE
using java or javascript and getting nothing usfull... I'm going home
tired and sad...

Can anyone here please post somthing usable so I can finally detect if
a PDF or Acrobat reader is plugged-in to IE???

As I understood IE does not expose the list of mime type.
