problem with installation of setup runtime files

Hi,

When I try to install the prequisite component "Setup Runtime Files" the
installation process stop and this component is not installed.

I have tried to execute the Bootstrap.msi file conatined in the 3rd CD and I
have the following Error message: "Eror 1305. Error reading from file
F:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\1033\mdmui.dll.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it"

I have checked: the file exists and I'm Administrator on my computer so I
have access to all files.

I have Windows XP and I have installed all the critical Updates from the
Microsoft Update site.

How can i install the setup runtime files ? this problem blocks the
installation of Visual studio .net
