Set document loaded by XHR into Frame

I'm looking for some advice on how to set a document loaded by the
XMLHttpRequest object into a specific frame.

In fact what I need to do is load a single document from the server
that contains 2 kinds of data and display each kind in a separate
frame.

I haven't used XHR before, or done client-side document processing, so
a list of the steps I'd need to go through would be really great.
