Start PDA application development?Confused, help me

Hi everyone,
I want to start to develop application on PDA,I have some years
experience in programming(.NET).
I looked on ng and web but I'm a bit confused, I have some question:
-I've understood that there is choice between C++ and Java(J2ME) and
that Java,my preferences goes to this language, has some pro(easiest
development,portability) and some cons(slower).My question is:are there
limitations to develop in this language? For example in networking
api(bluetooth, irda) and media api(video, music) J2ME is as good as C++?
-What is personal Java?
-Can you point me to some good books?
Thanks everyone.

For handsets, you'll need to become familiar with the Mobile Information
Device Profile (called the MIDP). It defines a new VM and APIs for
application development on wireless devices. The application model is
the MIDlet.
-What is personal Java?

An EOL'd technology.
-Can you point me to some good books?

Lookup books by either Jonathan Knudsen, Eric Giguere or C. Enrique Ortiz.
