WebParts and Performance

S

spdude

We have a high trafficked web application and we are creating a
personalizable home page for all users. I am concerned about the
performance due to the number of database hits. It appears that
everytime a user drags and drops or changes mode, the webpart
framework makes atleast 3 hits to the database:

aspnet_PersonalizationAllUsers_GetPageSettings
aspnet_PersonalizationPerUser_GetPageSettings
aspnet_PersonalizationPerUser_SetPageSettings

In addition to these, we have atleast 10 webparts on a page and each
of these makes a database hit as well. Given the large number of users
this portal supports, performance is a major concern for us.

Anyone has any inputs on how to deal with this issue?

Thanks!
