What am I doing wrong? Flash / IE

Now, check your code and make sure you are pointing at the right swf
file in the object tag.

<nitpick>
Not that I know anything at all about flash but should that not be 'object
element'? After all the name of the .swf file is not mentioned in the actual
<object> tag but rather in the content of the object element, in one of the
[empty] param elements.
</nitpick>

In the code that Chris is using this is true. He's using the MS object
rather than the standards compliant object, which does refer to the
movie from the actual <object> tag, via the data attribute. See, for
example, the ALA Flash Satay article for details.

Karl is not a meanie, he's a sweetie. :)

Besides, you sound like my four year old: "but he did it first!"

Am I the only one to see Chris is posting one hour into the
future?

NTLs news server has forgotten that it's summer time (although I can see
why given the weather here) so my post should be an hour ahead as well
:-(

Yup. I agree, Obvious indeed.

You're not excused.

I've read every post so far in this thread and I've looked at the
source code on your site. The problem on the page I looked at was
obvious. The fix would be trivial.

No, I've fixed the problem myself already. So you can smeg off.

Did I order you to do anything? No, I did not. I made a reasonable request.

Which will cause more and more people to notice your antisocial attitude and
to ignore you.

Now, Do you want that question answered or not? I can see at least five
people in this thread who could answer said question in about fifteen
seconds. Do you wish any of them to answer you? Your call...

Ah, OK, thanks. I see the source[sic] of all the confusion now.

It *is* interesting that the OP is using the MS object (getting it wrong)
and IE barfs whereas Mozilla does not :)

But then again this is of little interest. I have never actually used an
object element, and probably never will.

Mozilla is ignoring the MS object and using the embed instead.
Standards? We don't need no stinking standards here, mate.

It was more like, "OMG thief!!!111 We don't associate with riff raff new get
out"

Do you have permission from the copyright holders of those movies to include
said movies on your site?

If you can answer "yes" then all is fine, however I doubt you actually can.
If you do have permission then a polite attribution as to the source might
be in order.

If you must answer "no" then you, sir, are a thief. I for one never ever
give advice to a thief and neither AFAIK does Karl.

Have to watch the clips then keep resizing also :$ Does that give me an
extra few minutes?

Not even close. If you had lurked for a little bit to get to know
the personalities. Oh well, do what you want, I don't have time to
play this game. Good bye

Yes, it is nitpicking, but you are correct

Ah. Figures, since the object element is malformed anyway, as it is missing
a closing tag. Of course I have never coded an embed element either so I
don't know how one may interact with an object element, if it does or is
that the other way round? :)

?

Did I mention standards? If I did then I didn't mean to :-(

Since NN 7, Netscape does it right.

Sweeden. Sweeden is where the TV weather report girl wears as much as she
needs to keep her warm. If it is a scorcher of a day...

Or is it Norway...
