add Javascript code at the end of a SelectedIndexChanged event

I have a webform that searches a database and displays the output in a
datagrid. I would like to be able to call a javascript at the end of the
SelectedIndexChanged event. The Javascript would basically take the data
from the grid and display it on a the parent WebForm.
I am just not sure of the method to use.

I have gotten every thing to work using a html button to finish the job I
just need to know how to make the JavaScript Fire at the end of the
SelectedIndexChanged event.
