firstobject.com's free Unicode XML light editing utility for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP with no Java or MSXML dependency. It includes a tree view, functions for aligning and indenting your XML, print, print preview, e-mail sending, Unicode character analysis, XML path aid, editing shortcuts, and C++ code generation to see how to create or navigate your XML with CMarkup.
Release 1.4 adds an Encoding drop-down choice in the Save dialog, UTF-8 BOM (preamble) support, better memory efficiency with CMarkup 7, and non-Word Wrap mode.
The firstobject XML Editor does not require any external XML component, and is based entirely on Win32 calls available since Windows 95. It is quick and snappy even on large multi-megabyte files, the executable is small (384kb) and utilizes only 1.5 to 3 times the memory size of your XML document.
